UNITE sets off at 6:30am for their first round of destinations today! For a brief update on the itinerary:
Unfortunately, Dr.Kanter (Under Secretary of Education) had to cancel her meeting with us due to a meeting at the White House! They're working on trying to find someone else from the Department of Education to meet with UNITE members. We will keep you updated on this information!
For now, it's off to a day at School Without Walls, an alternative school in DC that was just recently awarded Blue Ribbon status. What's in the plan for later in the day? Volunteering at Barnard Elementary School during their after school program! UNITE members will work one on one with the youth and participate in a cooking activity. We're looking forward to the adventures ahead of us today!
